Wolfgang Schwade, Former Chairman of the Management Board

Wolfgang Schwade is a fully qualified lawyer with decades of experience in public administration, business and the insurance sector. Following positions at the German Association of Towns and Municipalities and as a city director and mayor, he served as Chairman of the Management Board of GVV Kommunalversicherung from 2005 to 2025.

Through his many years in senior leadership positions, he has gained an in-depth understanding of municipal structures and their challenges, as well as the requirements of business organisations. His experience is complemented by numerous supervisory and advisory board mandates and his active involvement in business-related bodies, particularly within the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

As a member of the B-Connect Global Advisory Board, Wolfgang Schwade contributes his expertise in regulatory matters, strategic insight and extensive network across politics, public administration and business.
